Mr. Green Geek was established in order to keep you informed of the latest technologies to help save you energy and to lower your carbon foot print. Unfortunately there aren’t any miracle cures, but as I find new products or information I will be adding them to the site. To the right you will find links to the many sites that I have found to be very informative. Most of this is cutting edge technologies that we probably won’t see for a few years. However, I am impressed with the Aptera automobile and the solar technology introduced by Konarka. If you have the time, visit their website and watch the Discover Channels video about this amazing solar powered technology. They could change the way we produce energy for everything we use.
I have a couple of products on the site now that I have tested and found to be effective in reducing energy cost. One is the Cool-N-Save from Green Way Design Group. This product can reduce your air conditioner electric usage by up to 30%. The other product that I have found is the Smart Surge Protector. The first outlet has a sensor, when a devise (say a computer) is plugged into that outlet turns off, it turns off up to 4 devises that are plugged into the strip. You can save up to 73% of the energy used by eliminating idle current. To learn more about these products click on the products tab at the top of the page. Included in the links are links to Energy Savers and the US Department of Energy both of which have energy saving ideas. Take a look around, tell me what you like and dislike.
